Abbeylara
Abbeylara Church, Co. Longford.
Here you will find the gutted remains of a 13th century Cistercian Abbey. A very weathered figure, mounted on the inside of the South wall and about 6m from the ground, can be seen and photographed with no difficulty.
Various body parts have been made out although this is open to interpretation, including that it is a Madonna holding a child in front of her.
