Ardfert Franciscan Friary, Co. Kerry
A reference here for a 2 foot square sheela being found by James McDonnell, Co. Kerry Field Club, in 1980 and repositioned high up on the West wall of the tower.
Despite a thorough search by OPW workers and myself we could not find anything meeting this description.
Unusually this church is Franciscan instead of the usual Cistercian/sheela connection but I have seen references that they had a Cistercian Abbot appointed after the local monks strayed from the straight and narrow.
